True biophilic design principles have been utilised within the interior creating a unique setting to enhance children's sensory abilities and promote effective learning. Such design choices include calm atmospheres thus negating reverberation or echo. This strategic foresight has an extremely positive impact upon both the learning environment and wellbeing for the children.

Empowering Learning Through Biophilic Design

This space empowers individuals to think, learn, work, and enjoy time together more effectively. We are all becoming aware of the significant relationship between sound and well-being. 

The acou.space design team is passionate about seamlessly integrating both aspects; this SEN school project is a wonderful example of commitment by the design, supply, and construction teams.

Creating Peaceful Places

Within the school, the creation of peaceful places serves as sanctuaries for children, allowing them to engage with their senses and enhance their learning experiences. Sound reflections have been controlled to mitigate noise disturbances and foster an environment that supports concentration and focus.

Innovative Solutions

A range of effective acoustic solutions have been utilised, including quality acou.felt acoustic wall panels, floating cloud rafts, and fun mountain play mats. These elements have been strategically placed within the interior. We successfully controlled sound reflections within the interior to promote concentration whilst adding a touch of creativity and, of course, fun!

Balancing Functionality and Aesthetics

Functionality should not compromise aesthetics, whether minimal in design, decorative or biophilic. Our acoustic panels, sound-absorbing tiles and finishes serve their purpose by controlling sound and contributing to the overall design scheme.

By incorporating texture, pattern, colour, and shape where appropriate within a project, the interior transforms into an engaging and visually appealing environment which is equally important for learning, working, recreational and residential settings.
